A Gen1 Haldex Controller - allow full control of the OEM Haldex system.  Switchable controls between Stock/FWD and 5050.  The options to use the buttons on the module itself, an Android based app or a remote screen.

A front bias (50%) will always be in place due to the stock front gearbox.  This cannot be changed with any Haldex controller - it's not possible.

The controller works by modifiying the CAN signals from the ECU and sending the new modified signals to the Haldex unit.  The Haldex Controller can operate in 'standalone' mode, where it does not require CAN signals and will create it's own - ideal for conversions.

The controller comes assembled - final connection from the chassis to the module socket is required.  Internal wiring between the PCB and the output socket must also be complete.  This is due to the final user picking pin locations which may vary chassis to chassis.  The installation will take around 30 minutes to complete and comes with all the pins required.

Tech Spec

The Forbes Automotive OpenHaldex T4 Controller gives you full control over the Haldex 4Motion system. 4 switchable modes.

On 4motion cars, the Haldex system waits until it detects ‘slip’ from the front wheels at which point it engages the clutch-pack within the Haldex unit to drive the rear wheels.  On high performance cars, it may be advantageous to force specific modes to suit the driving style required at the time. The OpenHaldex T4 controller is based on a Teensy 4.0 and is positioned between the ECU and the existing Gen1 Haldex module.  It is Bluetooth enabled and can be controlled with push buttons on the device, an application on Android based phones (iOS coming soon) as well as a remote Bluetooth screen*.

The OpenHaldex module takes the existing CAN-BUS signals coming from the ECU to the OEM Haldex module and adjusts them to suit the required mode. There is a
standalone mode which means that the OpenHaldex module can be used on conversions
or cars without working CAN-BUS.  This will mimic OEM CAN-BUS signals to the Haldex pump to allow it to operate as if there was an original ECU in place.
